CATIA V5 – Hole Dimension Table

When creating drawings, there is often a need to position the holes and the corresponding diameters in the table. This is a common case when a certain view of the drawing contains a lot of holes, so the individual quotation of each of them is very unobtrusive, more so if the holes are not in a pattern.

The following example shows how to generate a table with the position and the associated hole diameters. In a simple model several holes are created that are not in the pattern, i.e. "scattered" on the surface without a logical layout, so the drawing is made a look to the right. Next, to the holes that are generated from the 3D model on the view, it is still manually added to the Center Line (3 times).

The table is generated by clicking on the icon hole_dimension_table_ikona . All holes must be selected beforehand, and in this case, all three Center Lines are selected. Then, click the icon to start the command.

The menu opens where the table name (Title field) can be entered. In the Columns field, the hole marking type (A, B, C, ... or a, b, c, ... or 1, 2, 3, ...) is selected. In the Titles field you can mark what it will write with the reference values of the position of the hole (most often REF.). It is still necessary to mark what you want to enter in the table (position X, position Y, diameter).

The Transpose Table option will rotate each row and column in the table.

The Sort Table Content option is used to sort content, if it is turned on, then click on the icon sort_table_content_ikonawhere you can define which parameters will sort the results in the table and whether it will go up or down.

The Split Table option serves to split the table into two parts, where it is possible to define the maximum number of rows or maximum table height.

In the top menu section, using the Flip Horizontally or Flip Vertically icons, you can turn either X and Y in relation to how the system is set to default. After all the parameters are set, clicking OK generates a table.

Each hole in the view is given the reference (A, B, C, ...) corresponding to the one in the table. It can be noted that the table was also generated with the manually added Center Line (J, K, L), of course, there is a diameter of 0.
