Dassault Systèmes, "The 3DEXPERIENCE Company" that develops a 3D design, 3D digital mock-up, and product lifecycle management software had the first digital event. On September 13th, 2018 anyone could watch it thanks to the live streaming technology. The event was named "Shape the World We Live In". Except about CATIA, speakers were talking about digital mock-up, large assembly management, system engineering, electrical vehicle, and last CATIA version; CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
Philippe Laufer talked about new CATIA futures and functions, as well as about future plans. Philippe Laufer, known as CATIA Boss, is a man behind CATIA for last 30 years. His contribution has been crucial to CATIA’s present leadership and he is recognized by partners and customers as the worldwide CATIA expert.
DMU Leader, Vedran Tare presented Rimac Automobili
With only nine employees, Rimac Automobili produced the first fully electric supersport car that changed the concept of electric cars, but also the concept of transport in general.
The unique technology of electrical components has been recognized by traditionally leading world car manufacturers.
Business expansion, as well as an exponential increase in the number of employees, requires a software that can keep up with success and associate employees by working on a single central database. It is precisely C_Two developed in CATIA on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that associates all development and design. A unique centralized database provides access to information, as well as a visual inspection of the project and/or product. By introducing such a business platform, productivity is improved and time to market is shortened. CAD (Computer Aided Design) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform utilize a few hundred employees of the Rimac Automobili. The training course has been passed in cooperation with 3DEXPERIENCE experts from the CADCAM Group.

More details about CATIA on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform were presented by Mauro Boscati, senior consultant for Dassault Systemes software. Here we would like to highlight the Digital MockUp (DMU) concept which links all the activities that describe the product in 3D. Thanks to this concept, engineers can design and configure complex products as well as validate design without the need for the physical prototype.
