Two luxury sports cars have "met" on the Adriatic Coastal Road and that means one thing. Absolute pleasure. On the Adriatic Coastal Road competed Rimac Concept_One and currently the fastest serial car Bugatti Veyron. The Veyron, gasoline-powered supercar, can reach its maximum speed of 408km/h. But how does he compete when he joins the supercar Rimac Concept_One, a car powered by "electricity"?
On the "paper" Bugatti has several advantages, as well as some disadvantages compared to Concept_One. Veyron certainly has a higher top speed, but what about acceleration? Power? Responsiveness? Rimac Concept_One uses four synchronous electric motors with a total output of 811kW, while gasoline Bugatti Veyron develops 736kW. How do they perform in the conventional curvy road?
However, this is only a part of the story. The above-mentioned cars met in Raceland, where they competed on race track. Has Veyron been able to develop all the power offered on the track in Raceland? Was Rimac Concept_One suitable for such a race track? What was the outcome? Both cars together are worth more than two million euros. What was the result, you can see in the video "track and drift action".
Who was the winner in acceleration at ¼ mile or the so-called drag race between the two rivals? In fact, Rimac Concept_One had remarkable start, since he has 4 electric motors for fast response time, the maximum torque and power from the very start. However, Veyron has a very strong turbocharged engine.
More about supercar Rimac Concept_One and what plans they have for the future in Rimac Automobili, you can read in the article "The new car model in the advanced platform 3DEXPERIENCE”.
